Facts In Short Supply As Rioters Push To Purge Orange Man Bad
For the three years-plus he’s occupied the White House, Donald Trump has stood in the way of the woke folk. He’s defied them through Mueller and MAGA and Kavanaugh and Ukraine impeachment. He’s taken their best shots. But this week’s Festival of Anarchy may have finally done the deal. Isolated by the DC culture and temperamentally unable to outflank his tormentors he’s in electoral peril five months from the election.
As his critics— his former defence secretary James Mattis joined the baying hounds on Wednesday— call for his ouster, it’s important to note that, however much they mock Trump— this is not principally about him. The same “concerned citizens” previously vilified conservatives Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush as tyrants and power mad.
No, it’s about telling anyone in the future who wants to mess with the government Mafia and their media supporters what will happen if you try to hurt their business. “Nice little presidency you have here. Too bad if something were to happen to it.”
That’s why mayors, corporate leaders and citizens are taking a knee before the mobs to acknowledge guilt for history. They know they’re being shaken down; Trump’s too stubborn or stupid to pay the hush money. If you want to know why the Left thinks it finally has Trump in its sights, the diversion Barack Obama took from “Lucrative Speech Land” to a national TV spot on Wednesday tells you a lot.
Ever the opportunist, Obama thinks it’s safe for him to resurrect his political program dismantled by Trump. He smells the blood of Orange Man Bad. Despite death and destruction in the streets, Obama told viewers it was a great time to be alive if America (translation: white America) was “Awakened to these underlying trends” of racism and targeting of blacks.
As is typical when Obama speaks there were word salads, gauzy hopes and poetic invocations of a great day a-coming. In fact, the hardest thing to find in this week’s tsunami of fuzzy history and racial distortion theory have been facts that support the genocide suggestions of #BLM radicals and celebrities such as LeBron James.
Here are some facts from the FBI. In 2019 there were about 10 M. arrests in America; there were 1,004 fatal shootings by cops of all races. Of the victims noted, 41 were unarmed. Of them, 19 were white, 10 were black (from a population of 41 million). In half those 10 incidents the cop and suspect were struggling for a cop’s gun.
More people die choking on bottle caps than do blacks who are choked by police. These numbers also represent a decrease from previous years in the number of suspects of all races shot by police. Some genocide.
In the same year, 48 cops were killed. It is 18.5 times more likely that a cop was shot by blacks than blacks shot by white cops. This last weekend alone 82 people were shot in Chicago—19 of them died. In 2018, 7,407 blacks were murdered— many of them unarmed; over 90 percent of them were shot by other blacks. As opposed to the hysterics of the past week there were no parades for this tragedy. No protests. No Don Lemon sermons. Just funerals and tears.
You won’t hear these statistics because they get in the way of the narrative pushed by Lemon and the #BLM people who say (with a straight face) that cops should be defunded or replaced by roving bands of concerned citizens. Think a healing circle in Columbus Circle. Obama’s tacit approval will not lessen their messianic zeal. "SILENCE IS VIOLENCE!!!!!” Tweeted CFLer James Wilder Jr.
Obama may be right about Trump’s vulnerability. After trying nearly every artful device the past three years to convince voters that they, not Trump, are the rightful owners of the America’s democratic tradition, the Bad Losers Club may have finally hit on the winning formula for expelling the interloper from the White House. Intimidation.
No one is asking why a black cop, an Asian American cop and two white cops— who’ve been arrested and condemned by everyone from Trump to Al Sharpton— constitute a racial travesty that draws out hundreds of thousands to protest… something. It’s now sedition to even question the movement. Look at the silent surrenders by everyone from L.A. mayor Eric Garcetti to NYC cops.
You may think the street theatre and brick throwing is about the sad, pathetic death of George Floyd. Certainly that’s what the signs and slogans claim. But the real game here is the intimidation scam honed in colleges and Antifa training depots. Ask anyone who’s followed academia and the culture industry in America how they seized power in those enclaves.
Through intimidation and shock troops— cheered on by a complicit media industry—they expelled the moderates and installed those who put up bail money for looters and punks who’ve burned and pillaged. The next phase for “peaceful protesters” and apologists like John Cusack is regaining power in November and playing this intimidation poker to solidify their power and guarantee that government reformers never rule again.
We in Canada know what happens next. Canada has already surrendered to its cultural elites and their burdensome white guilt tropes. The nomenklatura in Canada locked down its power when it replaced Harper/ Hitler with the charming Trudeau in 2015. Opposing viewpoints are no longer being solicited as he bribes the media with taxpayer money.
If you want to know what happens if you have a competing notion of justice in Canada just ask Stockwell Day, a Justice minister who once ran for prime minister in this country. Day had the temerity to suggest that, in his opinion, Canada was not systemically racist. For this heresy he has been defrocked as a CBC analyst, fired from his board directorships and consigned a dunce hat by the Canadian media.
Day’s comments came just days after a prime minister who’d been shown wearing blackface and feigning Calypso images— without apology— informed U.S. TV networks that Canada is a hive of racist hate. For defaming Canada— not for the first time— Trudeau remains PM with a high approval of in blue check Canada.
By now, Canadians see Trudeau’s double standard as old news. America is still stunned by their naked power grab this week. Don’t worry. It’ll grow on them. Or else.
