Raking Donald Trump kept the media heat off the hapless man in the low cottage— while also ennobling Canadian elites to their soul mates in the globalist movement.

Though writer/ director Aaron Sorkin vilifies Republican president Richard Nixon, the Chicago 7— plus Seale— are, ironically, protesting the Democratic Party’s pursuit of the Viet Nam War and its Dixiecrat base that invented Jim Crow. That is the same Democratic Party that now venerates the Chicago rioters as part of its iconography, its sainted past as progressives.

Citizens today see the creeping dementia of president Joe Biden and the blissful incompetence of PM Justin Trudeau and ask themselves, “This is the best we can do?” Where they once chose between dynamic leaders, voters now choose between the least offensive options. Much of this is a result of the knowledge industry revolution from the internet. Seen initially as a flowering of knowledge it is now a grim carnival of censorship, polemics and hate. Democratization has morphed into demonization.

What the PM neglects to say is that his scapegoating of Snowbirds and other international travellers might have had an impact if it had been done a year ago at this time when the virus was not endemic.. But 2020 Trudeau thought shutting borders and blaming foreigners was racist and the China-run WHO said travel and masks was no big whoop.

You can’t argue the Left’s purported moral authority in a debate they’ve framed. Don’t cooperate in the farce. Go back to your home. Turn off the TV. Stop reading social media. And turn your music up loud.

Will the warnings from people such as former BMO CEO Tony Comper wake up the middle class to the impending cash grab on their retirement savings? Any revival of Quebec nationalism is terrible news for Justin Trudeau. Not in the way it was for Papa Pierre. Pierre was trying to keep Quebec in Confederation. Trudeau the Younger is trying to keep other provinces in Canada. He knows Québec will do what it wants. The minute Québec heads for the exit Alberta and Saskatchewan will hold the door for them. “After you, M. Legault.”

In earlier times a chastened Andrew Cuomo might have kept a low profile to avoid criticism. But whatcha’ gonna’ do when the media people who are supposed to critique you are the ones giving you hardware? Cuomo knew that blaming Trump gave him a hall pass to do whatever he pleased.

The Reset means Belgian bureaucrats, daffy climate cultists, media virtue pigs, grifters from the first-class lounge and positively furious feminists and race hustlers will be shaping Canada’s fortunes in a global Kumbaya. Paid for by Canadians who are not allowed at the reception in Biarritz.

If there is one thing Canada still can defend it is our democracy. With simple pencil and paper, Canada is continuing the noblest traditions of citizenry at election time. Without resort to technology or intellectual frippery, Canada has a national election in six weeks. Election night is over by midnight. Citizens are assured the results are accurate. All of this simplicity seems to have escaped Americans this year.

In the public mind Big Media has given up on balanced and fair. They either couldn’t or wouldn’t find the Shy Trump vote in their polling. How these firms justify themselves in the future is a mystery. But you know they'll re-invent themselves under a different flag, especially under a Swampy Biden government. Denial is more than a river in Egypt for the consultant class.
