Obama: Facts Are For Suckers & Republicans
Barack Obama must be so proud. The cultural mosh pit POTUS 44 set in motion when elected in 2008 has persevered despite the election of Donald Trump, his arch-nemesis, over Barry’s presumed heir, Hillary Clinton.
There are U.S. senators saying a citizen, a judge, is not entitled to the presumption of innocence because he has policy disagreements with them.
There are mobs of woke Leftist bullies, urged on by a U.S. Congresswoman, forcing an elected member of the same Senate from a public restaurant in Washington D.C.
There are previously revered magazines and newspapers knowingly printing hearsay as evidence, because it serves their purpose in trying to impeach Trump.
Having lived through the turbulent 60s, we only need assassinations before we’re back in the dark days of the Weathermen and the Symbionese Liberation Army. (Actually, we have has several attempts to assassinate Republican members of Congress by leftist ideologies that, fortunately, did not succeed completely. But good luck hearing that on CNN or MSNBC.)
Did we mention the Weathermen? The anarchist group set off explosives that killed people in the late ‘60s, hoping to incite the sort of chaos we are now seeing in the U.S. And did I mention that their leaders, Bernadine Dohrn and Bill Ayres, gave Obama his entree into the art of power politics? “Never let a crisis go to waste” was one of the Alinskyist bromides instilled in young Obama, wet behind the ears from his native Hawaii, when they got their mitts on the future president in the 1990s.
Some might have used the more common phrase “divide and conquer” (popularized by Napoleon). Split the body politic into as many parts as possible, set them at each other and then come up the middle when the status quo breaks. See: Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot.
Of course, Obama and his pals would never suggest anything as nakedly predatory as that. Heavens, no. The progressive left prefers to disguise its ulterior motive in phrases such as diversity and inclusion. Can’t have the handmaidens of the press saying anything so crass as revolution.
Diversity— which Justin Trudeau is giving a heavy workout in Canada— is one of the pretty words hiding a malevolent purpose. It suggests a beautiful hotel full of happy clients in their rooms, enjoying their own cuisine and culture. A babble of languages singing a happy song. It’s a PSA for progress among the world’s peoples.
Anyone who can’t get with this concept is inviting a mob of postgraduate Gender Studies students to visit you at the bistro between appetizers and entrées. Shouting you down in the cause of free speech.
Diversity works fine as a food court. But it sucks as a social construct. When everyone gets their way, no one gets their way. Interests clash. The happy smiles are replaced by someone putting a trash can through the front widow of the library.
To help precipitate the clash of interests, Obama spent his eight years in the White House telling his fellow citizens just how hard-done-by they are. How, despite luxury and health unknown in humankind, they are the victims of history. How the white power structure that created the U.S. was hostile and corrupt and eager to stomp on their throats.
So blacks, latinos, women, the physically and mentally challenged, LGBTQ, illegal aliens, cyclists, non-gun owners, animal-rights lovers, CNN anchors drunk on the air, vegans, left-handed people, trans-sexual and so many more are the victims of a vast conspiracy of rich white people seeking to hold them down.
The solution to this oppression is to fall in line with the groovy people in the entertainment and culture industry, let the shock troops of progressive socialism do the heavy work for you. Because all the pigs are equal, right?
The problem for Obama and his band of merry Marxists is that, while Canada laps up the dialectics of the Third People’s Congress, Americans have been less willing to enrol in the great leap forward. As Trump so eloquently showed in 2016, they were willing to elect even a TV huckster with a dubious past rather than sign up for eight more years of nattering them about being “moral cowards”.
That’s why this week’s full-court press surrounding the Supreme Court is vital to him and his devotees. If he can’t use the ballot box, he must have SCOTUS in his pocket. Liberals have been reliably assured of getting that backstop since the turbulent days of the ‘60s when the Earl Warren court started the march toward interpretive law making.
But with Trump in danger of tipping the Court away from its progressive past, no price is too high to pay, no tactic too subversive, not bending of the truth so outrageous to be discounted in flipping the three GOP senators who hold the balance of power on Kavanaugh’s nomination. Suddenly we are told that the accused must prove his innocence.
Using its skirmishers in the liberal media, who have discarded their integrity for the comforts of virtue signalling, the Obamites are pushing in all their chips on this week’s testimony from Kavanaugh’s first accuser. Even as all her witnesses crater, we hear in the New York Times that she’s still winning in something called the “court of credibility”.
They know that, facts be damned, the moment Dr. Ford starts to weep at her distant recollection of a sexual encounter, the gig is up. Women voters, the key to the next election in November, will desert the GOP. This image game is their closer. The poor Republicans, hung up on evidence, won’t know what hit them.
As Lavrentia Beria once told Stalin, “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime”. In his cryogenically sealed tomb, Lenin will be loving the spectacle of his playbook from 1917 being employed so skillfully once again. “That Barack,” he must be chuckling. “Such a kidder.”
